Organizations, as corporate citizens, have a duty to contribute to the development of communities within the Kingdom. At least, that is the view of Swaziland Royal Insurance Corporation.
On Wednesday 12 July 2017, SRIC continued its support for organizations that are at the forefront of community development by contributing over E1 million towards their diverse activities. Held at Mountain Inn, the event saw 12 organizations receive various amounts to assist in furthering their respective goals and objectives. These organizations range from orphanages like Gogo Nde and Zondle Girls Home to schools such as Ekumeni Primary and Sifundza and entrepreneurial entities like SEDCO.
Speaking at the event, SRIC General Manager Mr Zama Ngcobo pleaded with the recipients to view the donations as SRIC’s contribution to their respective causes and further expressed his confidence that the contributions would be used for the betterment of society at large, particularly in instilling good values and morals in an age where negative influence is rife.
Mrs Nokukhanya Gamedze spoke on behalf of the recipients, thanking SRIC for contributing to the noble causes of the organizations, especially because there were so many organizations the corporation could have donated to. She further applauded the corporation for being consistent with the recipients as that brought them closer to fulfilling their goals.
Even though the Corporation’s contribution may not be enough to satisfy all the needs out there, even more specifically the needs of the recipients, it does take heart from knowing that it plays a role, directly and indirectly toward making the country a better place for its citizens, especially future generations.
